What is ArubaSalsa’s Fun Fan Club?

ArubaSalsa’s Fun Fan Club is a group of people that love to dance (latin dances, like salsa, merengue and bachata) and come together to share this passion with each other. The members of ArubaSalsa’s Fun Fan club all join or have joined the lessons of ArubaSalsa Dance Company. The Fan Club focuses primarily on practicing the dance, but also organizes other activities to get to know the members of the Fan Club better and to create and stimulate new friendships. The Fan Club has an age range of 15 to 65 and since november already has more than 50 members! Everybody is welcome to join this Fun group of dance lovers!

How did the Fun Fan Club start?

The Fun Fan Club is officially founded by Lillian Boekhoudt (Lilly) and Mildred Brown (Milly). They independently decided to take salsa lessons with ArubaSalsa and met each other in class. They quickly became good friends and arranged to go to Bugaloe every week to practice their dance steps. The dancing became a positive ‘addiction’ and they felt the need to practice more and to share their love for dance with others. They arranged an informal “practice night” at Milly’s home and invited a few people they knew from the dance class and Bugaloe. It turned out to be a great fun night, with a lot of dancing, laughing and talking. More “dance get togethers” followed and the group of people attending these night grew bigger and bigger. On ArubaSalsa’s 1 Year Anniversary Party, we’ve made the Fan group official and baptized it: ArubaSalsa’s Fun Fan Club.

What are some of the Fun Fan Club activities?

Besides the regular dance and practice nights, we will also do other fun activities together. Here are a few activities (free & paid) that are planned for 2010:
- Bowling nights
- Quiz nights
- Off road adventures
- Palm Island / beach day
- Game nights
- Visit of Salsa congresses
- Scavenger Hunt
- Movie nights
- Sushi nights
